Those things are getting harder to fake.

There's also a cybersecurity angle.

AI makes it trivial to generate:

phishing messages
fake support emails
scam landing pages
social engineering attacks

That lowers the barrier to cybercrime dramatically.

This is why the "Dead Internet Theory" keeps spreading.

It claims much of the web is now bots talking to bots.

That might be exaggerated.

But the trend behind it is very real.

When content becomes nearly free to produce, the internet fills with noise.

Not because people want to ruin the web.

But because the system rewards quantity over quality.

The incentives are broken.

Platforms reward:

• content volume
• keyword coverage
• engagement metrics

AI is extremely good at generating those signals.

Now much of the web is generated by machines.

AI-written articles
AI-generated images
bot engagement
SEO content farms
automated review spam

The web is increasingly built for algorithms, not people.

The early internet was messy, but it was human.

Personal blogs
Weird forums
Niche websites
Hobbyist communities

If you searched for something, you often found a real expert explaining it.

The internet feels worse than it used to.

Search results are full of AI junk.
Fake reviews everywhere.
Bot accounts on every platform.
