@antio Just to be clear, I’m not anti-EV. I think it’s a good step forward. As long as EVs supplement the market, it will be fine. Current grid capacity cannot support 100% EVs. If the adoption rate goes along with grid capacity we’ll be fine.

@antio If everyone had an electric car, there wouldn’t be enough rare earth elements to to build them all. If somehow they could, the grid would not be able to charge them all, unless everyone goes nuclear. Then there would be enough capacity.

@antio Counter-points:
it takes more resources to mine for the rare earth elements to make an electric car. During a power outage, gas is still usually readily available.
During long road trips, filling up a gas tank takes 5 minutes and you’re back on the road.
